Our projects

BIKEAble! Project - our first Erasmus+ Initiative

With BIKEAble we made our baby steps in the Erasmus+ world, at least some of us. The project was a small scale cooperation partnership between BIKE, Illipula (ES) and Acarbio (IT), and during it we translated educational materials from the Youth and Commute Project, met in Italy and Austria to equip youth workers how do use cycling for inclusion and increased mobility and employability, and opened BIKE Corners in our premisses afterwards, inviting more young people to use bikes daily and make them the main commuting mean of transport.

BIKE Communities

During the BIKEAble! project we realised that the community supports young and new riders to start cycling and maintain that habit after, becoming the change we need in cities, advocates for safer streets, reduced noise and pollution, as well as healthy and independent young people, motivated to help others as well.

That sense of community from the BIKE world we are exploring with Velorecicla (ES) and Afrilanthropy (LU), and looking where this could be expanded and improved, so that we can reach new people, who normally do not cycle, or have not been brought up in families and cultures where cycling is also seen as a mean of commute for the daily needs.

Stepping into the world of KA153

Eco Competent is a training course for youth workers working with young people in the field of eco-anxiety. We are addressing this topic and preparing the next generations for the climate change and actions that can be taken around it, but carefully, structured and well thought through.
The training took place in Rettenegg in June 8-14 of 2026.
We have involved 6 partner countries and 28 youth workers attended, discussing the topic, learning something new, walking the mountains around and getting inspired for more action locally. After the training, 3 local events will take place in Türkiye, N. Macedonia and Serbia.

RE:ENGAGE – Reconnecting NEET Youth Through Active Mobility

RE:ENGAGE is an Erasmus+ project that started in March 2025. It brings together partners from North Macedonia, Austria, and Bulgaria to reconnect NEET youth (16-30) with learning and community life through active mobility. Using cycling and walking as entry points, the project organises bootcamps, supports youth-led local actions, and runs storytelling workshops where participants create and share their own stories. At BIKE we contribute our experience with hands-on cycling activities and work with migrant and urban youth in Graz. The project also produces a practical multilingual toolkit and policy recommendations. It runs for 18 months and aims to create simple, replicable ways to support inclusion, participation, and sustainable mobility.

BIKE empowers the generations of tomorrow with skills for healthy and green commuting in cities and beyond.
